Our Bulldogs had a great night on the court. This was just what our boys needed after their heartbreaking loss to the Longhorns last night. If you missed the game on live stream, it will remain on our channel for viewing anytime.
During the first quarter, our Bulldogs put up an impressive 17 points while holding the Longhorns to 4. Jay Friend knocked down 2 buckets and a 3 pointer, Anthony McManus and Chase Newman each scored a pair of buckets, and Wade Groff had a bucket. The second quarter our boys didn’t let up, keeping the Longhorns to 9 points while adding another 17. Jay Friend had a bucket, a 3 pointer, and a pair of free throws, Chase Newman and Anthony McManus another pair of buckets each, and Adam Moe drove one in for 2. Our Dawgs came out hard after halftime scoring 16 points while holding RBV to 4 points. Anthony McManus scored a trio of buckets, Jay Friend hit a 3 pointer and a free throw, Chase Newman had another pair of buckets inside the key, and Zach Barnes knocked down a pair of free throws. In the final quarter, our boys continued raining buckets down on the Longhorns outscoring them 19 to 16. Wade Groff hit a pair of 3 pointers and a bucket, Anthony McManus drove in a trio of buckets, Jay Friend had a bucket and a free throw, and Chase Newman put up a bucket.
After a hard start to the season, this game was exactly what our Dawgs needed to get control of their season. To top it off, two of our Bulldogs had double-doubles tonight. Senior Anthony McManus with 20 points and 11 boards, and Freshman Chase Newman with 14 points and 14 boards. If you happen to see them around school. give them a congratulatory fist bump for their hard work in the key.
