Bulldogs News · Bulldog Football moves to 4-0 with thrilling WIN !

This Friday Night April 16th both Ramona Football teams will play for the Valley League Championship at Ramona High Bulldog Stadium at 4:00pm (Novice) and 7

The Novice football team is 4-0 and the Varsity football team is 4-0. Last night the Novice team handled the Escondido Novice team quite well with a convincing 47-0 victory at Escondido High. Novice Running back Adrian Enriquez had two touchdowns on offense and an interception for a touchdown on defense while Isaac Ramos also had 3 Interceptions from the corner spot. The 27 freshman with the 19 sophomores have merged well as a team and are enjoying success. Many of these kids will be Varsity football players beginning on April 17th heading into what we hope will be a normal Summer / Fall football season.

The Varsity team exploded to a 35-17 Ramona lead at halftime with a dominating performance by the Ramona Offensive Line (Trevor Cass, Cameron Collins, Cody Purvis, Peyton Silva, Josiah Brown & Riley Johnson).  Tight ends Kaden Rogers, Nicholas Driscoll, and Colin Nungesser played a big part in this dominating rushing attack. Fullbacks Chance Mattson and Brayden Nungesser lead the way as Cash Jones exploded downhill for 15 carries for 150 yards and 3 Touchdowns. The Wide receivers blocked extremely well downfield and QB Devin Sobczak was 5 x 9 with some BIG play pass completions by Cameron Dingman , Jeremiah Friend, & Jacob Snyder. At the start of the 3rd quarter the tide turned. The Bulldogs had trouble returning 2 of 3 onside kicks that Escondido capitalized on and the Cougars kept the Ramona Defense on the field for about 20 minutes of a 24 minute half. The game was not decided until 1 minute left when Cash Jones took a power play off the right side on 3rd and 2 for a 30 yard gain to close out the victory.

The Bulldogs move to 4-0 on the “Mini CIF” season and close out League play this Friday night April 16th which is Senior Night at Bulldog Stadium.

17 of our Ramona Boys will play their final Bulldog Varsity Football game. These kids have stayed committed to the process the program implemented when COVID began in March of 2020. Their hard work is paying off with exciting victories with total team Wins. The Defense has been stellar all year and the offense has put up points. The score differential in 4 games is 169-44.
